Biography

As long as I can remember I have had a pencil in my hand
and a sketch pad on my lap. As a child I fell in love with the
works of Frank Lloyd Wright. At the age eight I was designing
buildings and everyone around me was convinced I’d become
an architect.

When my children were grown and I had retired from the
military, I studied Architectural Technology at Fayetteville
Technical Community College, Fayetteville, NC. Later I
worked as an interior design consultant for both Expressions
Custom Furniture and Norwalk. As a member of the design
team for Expressions I received the “Best Interior” Award from
the Harris Ranch Spring Parade of Homes, Boise, ID, spring 2001.

Although I enjoyed being an interior designer, it was not the
best use of all of my talents. So after a lot of encouragement
from clients and friends, I started R F Cowgill Designs, a Custom
Home design business in Boise, Idaho. There I earned an award
for “Top Design and Image” from the Canyon County Spring
Home Show, 2001, by Spectra Productions of Star, ID. The quality
of my renderings was instrumental in my receiving that award.

My hand renderings had attained a degree of sophistication, but
I wanted to explore the computer and its artistic applications.
This endeavor led me into experimentation with the digital media
and graphic arts. So I attended American InterContinental University
and earned my BFA in Digital design.
